Plaza de Arte is Delhi Center’s cultural arts initiative. It is a gathering place that celebrates Mexican folk art, music and cultural traditions. Delhi Center is very proud of this facet of its work with the community, both locally and binationally. Award winning folk art, musical concerts, dance and cultural events are year round activities within Plaza de Arte.

Manuel Esqueda Museum-store of Mexican Folk Art
Delhi Center launched the museum-store of Mexican folk art in partnership with the state of Michoacan. The live museum-store celebrates the magnificent hand-made pieces by skilled artisans from different regions in Mexico. The priceless collections showcase techniques and designs dating back to more than 500 years. The Museum-store is open to the public every Friday from 4:00 -7:00 p.m., during special events, and private tours.

Mariachi School
Students of all ages gather at the mariachi school every Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. As you enter the building you begin to hear the sounds of violins, trumpets, guitars and voices in the background. With a solid foundation in the art and science of music, students are tutored in groups and gain the skills and the confidence needed to perform before live audiences.

Exhibits, Musical Concerts, Dance and Cultural Traditions
Throughout the year, Plaza de Arte presents live, cultural art performances that include dance, musical concerts, exhibits, and festivals. In 2006, Plaza de Arte will present Noche de Rebozo, Guitar Concerts and Day of the Dead Festival, among other events. Check our upcoming events for more information
